Birthdays

Birthday day is celebrating day, so they say, but for Mom this day combines more with reflection. I wonder all the decisions we make about this life. All the same. How did Sabrina baby get into a new world. Where do babies come from? To this day, I do not really know where they were before conception? Are they in a parallel dimension? Or at a meeting table deciding which is the best family to live that earthly experience? Coming from another planet? Have you decided to be born? Or were we non-existent in the sense that there is still no separation between our energy and that of the universe?

There are those who believe that we have chosen our family in this other place, several times. Others find it all silly. For them existence is restricted to the material world and to this life, any other explanation is something of our mind that tries to deceive us or is afraid to die. Really, Mom does not know.

But what does this have to do with birthdays, the title of this letter? These dates have different meanings for each and every moment of our lives. Thus, a young child loves to make birthdays, because for them this date is synonymous with being old enough to ride a bicycle, going to school alone, learning to read books, playing an instrument.

We arrived in the late teens and it counts down to become 18 years old and able to go to real parties, to drink a few drinks lawfully, to be able to drive and to date like big people.

But it is there, in adulthood, that birthdays have deeper significance. For some it is a time of great joy for many years, where only the celebration prevails. For others it is time to miss someone who is gone, or afraid of losing their youth or worse still to see a number that does not reflect their achievements in material life.

We as adults charge too much. We want 80 or 90 perfect anniversaries, where we escape from reality and only that feeling of girls' princesses and super heroes of boys exists.

You know, son, for my birthdays, magical birthdays are still magical. I believe they will always be. Your greatest charm? It is the inner transformation and renewal of life. A year conquered, a new opportunity to make different what is not legal, create a new version of ourselves.

So you can become someone who goes after your dreams, even without knowing where to start. An older woman may feel very light and beautiful of the type who does not give a damn about her wrinkles, and can even see some charm in them. You can become a person who breaks taboos, a new inventor, a sportsman or an amateur painter.

You can not give a damn about the limitations that society imposes on you at times and simply make your birthday, each of them a moment of gratitude for your achievements and start a new journey full of challenges ahead. After all, he is alive; So something really cool still has to happen!
